Frequently Asked Questions
1) Are you accepting new clients?
Yes — I’m currently accepting new clients for individual adult therapy. All sessions are offered in person at my office in West Los Angeles or via HIPAA‑compliant telehealth. You must reside in California or Oregon to engage in therapy services.
2) How do I get started?
To begin, you can schedule a free 10‑minute phone consultation. This lets us talk briefly about your needs and see if we’re a good fit. You can reach out via email, phone, or through the contact form on this site. After that call, we will schedule your first session.
3) Is therapy confidential?
Yes — confidentiality is a core part of therapy and is handled with care. Your information is private except in rare legal or safety situations, including:
Suspected abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult
Imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
Court‑ordered subpoena
When required to notify emergency contacts for safety
If any of these arise, I will always try to discuss them with you first.
4) How do I pay for therapy?
Payment is due at the end of each session unless otherwise arranged. I accept credit cards, debit cards, and other electronic payments as available through my scheduling platform, SimplePractice.
5) Do you accept insurance?
I am an out‑of‑network provider. This means I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend checking your specific out-of-network mental health benefits in advance.
6) How often are sessions and how long do they last?
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes and scheduled weekly. We can adjust frequency depending on your needs and goals.
7) What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session fee will be charged.
8) What should I do if I’m in crisis?
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical/mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room right away. If you feel unsafe between sessions, please use crisis resources in your area.
9) What issues do you treat?
I work with adults on a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety, panic attacks, overwhelming stress
Depression and mood regulation
Trauma & PTSD
Relationship challenges & family issues
Grief, loss & life transitions
Low self‑esteem & shame
Addiction & substance use support
Emotional dysregulation & distress tolerance
If you don’t see your concern listed, feel free to ask — I can often tailor support to individual needs.
10) Do you offer Comprehensive DBT or DBT-informed therapy?
Comprehensive DBT offers 5 modes of treatment: Individual therapy, skills group, phone coaching, consultation team meeting, and case management/family work.
I have practiced comprehensive DBT for almost a decade, and my practice currently offers DBT-informed treatment utilizing the concepts and interventions in individual therapy. I can provide skills group referrals, as needed. If you need all 5 DBT treatment modes, I can refer you to a program that offers comprehensive DBT.
10) Do you offer teletherapy?
Yes. I provide secure, HIPAA‑compliant online therapy throughout California and Oregon, as well as in‑person services in Los Angeles (if applicable).
11) What ages or populations do you work with?
I specialize in therapy for adults (18+). If you’re younger than 18 or seeking couples/family therapy, I can help refer you to appropriate providers.
